Snoooz includes a built-in rule to help prevent accidental replies to spam, marketing, or promotional emails. However, cold outreach emails are becoming harder to detect because senders increasingly avoid typical spam wording. In some cases, Snoooz may not automatically classify every unwanted message correctly.
To enhance spam filtering, you can use AI-powered categorization and create a custom spam category.
Step 1 — Check if the Spam Category Already Exists
New Snoooz accounts may already include a Spam category.
If it exists: click to edit and fine-tune the prompt.
If not: follow the next step to create it.
Step 2 — Create a Spam Category (If Needed)
Go to Categories once you open a workspace.
Click Add Category
Name it: Promotional / Spam
Add a prompt and keywords (you can modify this based on your needs):
Suggested Prompt Example:
"Classify this email as Spam if it is cold outreach, spammy, phishy, promotional, affiliate marketing, unsolicited sales, newsletter-style messaging, bulk outreach, or mass automation"
Suggested Keywords:
unsubscribe
newsletter
limited offer
affiliate
grow your business
outreach
cold email
lead generation
marketing campaign
You may adjust these based on the emails you want Snoooz to ignore.
Step 3 — Update the Spam Rule
Once your category is ready:
Go to Rules
Open the Spam Rule
Add this condition:
Category equals Spam
Use OR logic, especially if existing criteria are already there.
Step 4 (Optional) — Assign a Label
To keep your inbox organized, you can choose to automatically apply a label such as:
Spam
Marketing
Cold Outreach
Ignore
This helps your mailbox stay clean and gives you visibility if needed later.
Done!
Once saved, Snoooz will automatically detect spam more accurately and avoid creating replies or drafts for unwanted messages. You can continue improving the prompt over time as new patterns appear.
